# 유보이익

**\[NOTE: 이익잉여금 보다는 유보이익 (Retained Earnings)이 훨씬 더 직관적이고 이해하기 쉬운 용어이다.]**

당기순이익 중에 주주에게 배당하지 않고 사내에 유보한 금액을 말하며, 다음과 같이 계산된다.

기업은 이익이 생기면 당연히 배당이라는 명목으로 주주에게 돌려주어야 하지만, 현실적으로는 재투자를 위한 자금의 확보뿐 아니라 자금경색 상황에 대비하기 위해서 배당을 미루고 사내에 자금을 보유하고자 한다.

이렇게 유보이익은 기업의 성장과 더불어 쌓여가는 것이다.
